Screen captures

Some views of the ship in action. Still occasionally tweaking (and Untweaking) aspects of the game. However, it is more or less the desired feel for this 3D "Asteroid" themed level. The ship and control is what I envisioned...so hopefully to the next chapter...of escaping from the Trapped in Space.

The screen to the left is a chase view at the normal vantage point. The center and right screens, show a quick turn then the auto return to the ideal view position.

Some Alien actions screens. The latency of the Chase plane view leads to some nice dynamic views but it is also the source of most of my ongoing "tweaking".

Hitting the boundary evokes the process of exiting and re-entering. Note the entry view shows a closeup of the ship because of the view is constrained to the play field. Asteroids and Aliens evoke the same entry/exit effects.

Can only be one of two final outcomes, after this point pressing any key will exit the game.
During the game, pressing the escape key will terminate the game.

Demo to production...

As it is now, the game can be considered as complete; much as the original Asteroid was complete, its ongoing levels were just cycling over with more rocks and aliens. But that can be redundant and really does not complete the story of escaping the trap, to find a way home.

The Player's ship has many features, controls, which are coded yet not used in this level. It would be a shame not to play them. So to have a commercial product the next levels will continue the story but with different themes utilizing more controls. As this demo level was a remake of the Asteroid theme, the next ones will honour other classic arcades in its play.

What happen now? As a continuation, a storyboard or so, of what's next. As the last rock was destroyed and all seem safe...a huge glow manifest, heralding an arrival....

A mother of an Alien vessel emerges.

It sprews energy bolts and saucers at you.
You take out the crafts and the weapon ports on the huge ship.

Otherwise, it remained undamaged but begins to retreat. Very odd.

A huge glowing portal remains in it's wake, is it another trap?

Nevertheless, it is the only way out.
So full speed into...your fate.

The story continues, and so does the game and it's development. Or maybe it is the end?
